Former Cabinet minister Vijay Sampla finds himself at odds with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after being denied a ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur constituency, as per sources reported by India TV.

Reports indicate that Vijay Sampla, feeling disenchanted with the saffron camp’s decision, is contemplating a switch to the Congress party.

Polling in Punjab is slated for the seventh and final phase on June 1, covering all 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Vijay Sampla previously served as the Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes from 2021 to 2023. His political career includes a stint as the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment from 2014 to 2019, as well as representing Hoshiarpur as a Member of Parliament.
