Kashmir: National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah on Thursday praised External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar’s recent visit to Bangladesh, where he attended the funeral of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. “I am happy that our foreign affairs minister has gone there and took part in it. Bangladesh is an old friend of ours, and we should take it forward. It will give a boost to it,” Abdullah said.
Commenting on the reported attacks on Kashmiri shawl vendors in various states, Abdullah expressed concern over growing extremist tendencies. “This is our destiny. Some people have a different aim. They are pursuing Hitler’s path, and they want that Hitler-like governance to be here. Hitler shot himself, and Nazism is gone. This time will come here too when these extremists are gone,” he said.
