Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a family of four was found dead by hanging in their home in Habsiguda, under the Osmania Police Station limits. The deceased have been identified as Chandrashekhar Reddy, a private employee, his wife Kavitha, and their two children, Shritha Reddy (Class 9) and Vishwan Reddy (Class 5).

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding their tragic deaths. Authorities are yet to determine whether it was a case of suicide or foul play, and further details are awaited.

Meanwhile, in a significant legal ruling, a Nalgonda court in Telangana has awarded the death penalty to Subhash Sharma, the second accused in a 2018 honour killing case that shocked the state. Sharma was convicted for the murder of Pranay, a man from the Scheduled Caste (SC) community, whose wife’s father had allegedly hired killers to eliminate him.

According to the police, the first accused, Pranay’s father-in-law, took his own life before the trial could conclude. The case was registered under the Prevention of Atrocities (PoA) Act and sections related to murder and conspiracy.

Nalgonda Superintendent of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar revealed that the chargesheet was filed in 2019, and the court’s verdict sentenced accused numbers three to eight to life imprisonment. The evidence, including a recorded video of the murder, played a crucial role in securing the convictions.
