In a heartfelt post on X, she called the incident “extremely heart-wrenching” and prayed for the recovery of the injured.

Gandhi urged the Rajasthan government to provide fair compensation to the affected families and ensure a thorough investigation to prevent such tragedies in the future. She said, “The news of the painful deaths of several patients due to a fire in the trauma centre of a government hospital in Jaipur is extremely heart-wrenching. May God grant peace to the departed souls. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

The fire broke out in the ICU of the trauma centre late on Sunday night, claiming at least six lives, confirmed Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph. Initial reports suggest the blaze may have been caused by a short circuit, while a forensic investigation is underway to determine the exact cause.

Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara slammed the state government for alleged negligence and corruption, demanding strict action against those responsible. Priyanka Gandhi emphasized the need for accountability, stating that measures must be taken to ensure such incidents do not recur.
