Mumbai: Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly, Devendra Fadnavis on Friday remarked that he had barely hours ago had remarked on the floor of house that there was something eerie about the sequence of events that culminated in the alleged suicide of the owner of the stolen, missing Scorpio (SUV) Mansukh Hiren at Kalwa creek near Thane. Hiren’s stolen SUV was found laden with explosive gelatine sticks and a purported threat letter outside the Antilia residence of Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani. Fadnavis had demanded that the case be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The missing SUV, the owner and the Investigation Officer (IO) Sachin Vaze all hail from neighbouring Thane city which all leaves ample room for doubts and has corroborative evidence to support, remarked Fadnavis.

He said this while taking part in the debate over the issue of law and order and corruption during the Covid-19 pandemic period in the Legislative Assembly earlier in the day.

The former chief minister remarked that there are several glaring, eerie coincidences that raised several suspicions in the entire chain of events. Mansukh Hiren whose Scorpio was stolen days before it was found abandoned, laden with explosive gelatine sticks had come to meet someone at Crawford Market in South Mumbai.

Fadnavis stated that the SUV was spotted outside Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia residence. Thereafter a group was formed on Telegram App wherein a letter belonging to Jaish-ul-Hind was posted. The group that allegedly claimed responsibility for the incident and gave a Crypto currency account which later was found to be non-existence. The group later disowned the claim and the threat letter found in the SUV.

The former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief minister remarked that not one but two cars were spotted outside Antilia. No sooner than this IO Sachin Vaze rushed to the scene. Three days before the incident there were several conversations that took place between Vaze and the now deceased Mansukh Hiren.

“Vaze hails from Thane, vehicles used were from Thane and the conversations taking place between the two right from the beginning. There is room for suspicion and there is corroborative evidence. It is our demand that the whole matter needs to be handed over to the NIA”, remarked Fadnavis.

Fadnavis said that while raising the issue on the floor of the house he had expressed apprehensions about the personal safety and threat to the life of Mansukh Hiren. Hours later he was informed that the dead body of Mansukh Hiren was found at Mumbra near Thane. He added that the whole thing is now getting fishy, becoming quite serious, the terror angle and hence the case should be handed over to the NIA.
