In a significant move to reshape Maharashtra’s political landscape, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, accompanied by Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde and NCP’s Ajit Pawar, met Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. The trio presented a letter of support, formally staking claim to form the new government.

Following the meeting, Fadnavis addressed the media, saying, “We have met the Governor and handed over the letter of support to stake claim to form the government in the state. The Governor has invited us to the oath ceremony tomorrow at 5:30 pm.” The ceremony is set to take place at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan.

Union Minister Vijay Rupani, the BJP’s central observer for Maharashtra, later confirmed that two Deputy Chief Ministers would take the oath alongside Fadnavis. While the names remain undisclosed, reports suggest that NCP’s Ajit Pawar is likely to be one of the Deputy Chief Ministers. Rupani also noted that discussions are ongoing with Mahayuti partners regarding the composition of the Cabinet, which will be finalized in the coming days.
