Hyderabad: In a chilling and gruesome incident in Hyderabad, Telangana, a former Army man allegedly murdered his wife, dismembered her body, and disposed of the parts after boiling them in a pressure cooker. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Puttavenkata Madhavi, was reportedly killed by her husband, Guru Murthy, on January 15. The incident has sent shockwaves through the city, with authorities confirming that the accused has been arrested and a detailed investigation is underway.
Madhavi’s family filed a missing persons complaint on January 18 after they were unable to contact her. Guru Murthy initially told the police that Madhavi had left their home following an argument. However, upon further questioning, the former soldier confessed to his heinous crime. According to the accused, after murdering his wife, he chopped her body into pieces and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker for several days. He then allegedly separated the bones, ground them, and boiled them again before discarding the remains in Meerpet Lake.
Guru Murthy, who served in the Indian Army and later worked as a security guard at the DRDO in Kanchan Bagh, was reportedly angered by a domestic argument with Madhavi. The couple, married for 13 years, had two children together. Following the murder, Guru Murthy reportedly led police to the lake, where they began searching for the body parts.
The authorities have confirmed that they are verifying the details shared by the accused, as investigations into the horrific crime continue. The police have charged Guru Murthy with murder and are working to recover the remains of the victim.
