Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of damaging India’s reputation internationally and indulging in politics instead of participating in parliamentary debates.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Shinde said the country is currently navigating a sensitive global situation due to escalating tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. He assured citizens that both the central and state governments are closely monitoring developments to ensure there is no disruption in fuel or gas supplies across India.

Shinde said authorities are working in coordination to prevent inconvenience to citizens and appealed to the public not to believe rumours about shortages of fuel or LPG.

Government Monitoring Global Situation

According to Shinde, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is personally keeping a close watch on global developments and taking necessary steps to safeguard India’s interests.

He said the government’s priority is to maintain stable energy supply chains and ensure that citizens do not face any crisis amid the evolving geopolitical situation.

Shinde emphasised that the Centre and state governments are coordinating efforts to manage any potential impact of international tensions on India’s fuel availability.

Shinde Accuses Rahul Gandhi Of Avoiding Parliament

Targeting Rahul Gandhi, Shinde alleged that the Congress leader often travels abroad when Parliament is in session instead of participating in discussions in the House.

He claimed that Gandhi frequently makes statements overseas that portray India negatively and harm the country’s global reputation.

According to Shinde, political leaders should present India positively on international platforms rather than criticising the country abroad.

Remarks On ‘Operation Sindoor’

Shinde also criticised Rahul Gandhi for allegedly not acknowledging the achievements and bravery of the armed forces during operations such as Operation Sindoor.

He claimed that while the country celebrates the courage of its soldiers, Gandhi’s remarks sometimes end up being highlighted by rival nations like Pakistan.

The deputy chief minister said political leaders should express pride in the nation’s armed forces and support their efforts during sensitive times.

India Moving Towards Third-Largest Economy

Highlighting India’s economic progress, Shinde said the country has now emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy and is steadily moving towards becoming the third-largest.

He said the rapid pace of development has made some people uncomfortable, but citizens understand who is working for the nation’s growth.

Shinde added that the public is capable of identifying those who contribute positively to the country’s progress and those who attempt to defame it.

He said voters will respond appropriately at the right time to those who try to tarnish India’s image instead of supporting its development.
