Eighth International Yoga Day celebrated at Handwara

Srinagar: The Eighth International Yoga Day celebrated at the Department of Social Welfare Markazi Falah- I- Itfal (MFI). Handwara by the 57 battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) at Handwara.

The 57th battalion of the BSF, on the occasion of 8th International Yoga Day, (21st June) organized a joint yoga event at Markazi Falah- I- Itfal (MFI) opposite the Superintendent of Police office Handwara.

The Jawans and officers of BSF enthusiastically participated in the Yoga with all members of the orphanage and did practice some yoga skills. 

In the beginning of the programme, Surendra Mishra, Commandant of 57 battalion BSF, distributed Yoga T-Shirts to all the children, staff of MFI Handwara. On this occasion, PPS Negi 2IC, Rajesh Singh Yadav, Deputy Commandant, Subedar Major Shailesh Pratap Singh and Wardan Abdul Rehman also participated in the yoga session.

On this occasion Surendra Mishra, Commandant told all the participants that Yoga is such an accessible and natural method through which many spiritual benefits can be obtained along with a healthy mind and body. Through his speech, he motivated them, especially small kids, to do yoga regularly so that the positive energy of yoga can spread in all directions. 

He also assured to conduct regular events for children of Markazi Falah-I-Itfal in near future also.
