Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Friday announced a landmark decision by the state government to introduce E-Bonds for faster processing of official documents, with support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Speaking about the initiative, Bawankule said, “Today, a very important decision has been taken by the Maharashtra government with the support of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis regarding the facility of bonds. This initiative involves coordination between our Stamp Department, the Registration Department, and the Central Government’s Customs Department. Both departments came together—essentially the ESAL and the NSAI—and within 20 days, they took this initiative. The result of this initiative is that out of 50,000 documents processed daily throughout the year, for which a bond of ₹500 was required, now E-Bonds have been introduced.”

The introduction of E-Bonds is expected to streamline document processing, reduce physical paperwork, and save significant time for citizens and businesses alike.
