Durgapur: In a shocking crime that has reignited outrage over women’s safety in West Bengal, the state police have arrested three persons in connection with the gangrape of a medical student from a private college in Paschim Bardhaman district’s Durgapur. Authorities confirmed that two more accused remain absconding, and a massive manhunt has been launched to trace them.
The victim, a second-year MBBS student at IQ City Medical College in Durgapur’s Shivapur area, hails from Jaleswar in Odisha. According to officials, the horrific incident occurred late Friday night, when the survivor had gone out for dinner with a male friend.
