Srinagar: Continuing with its efforts to curb drug menace in Kupwara district a day long drug de-addiction and career counselling program was held at Gundchubutra Kralgund in Handwara on Tuesday.
The program was organised by Centre for Research on Public Policy (CRPP), a research-based organisation based in Handwara, Jammu and Kashmir where different social activists from North Kashmir and a huge number of people participated.
Speakers at the program stressed on the steps necessary for curbing the menace. The speakers discussed drug usage and the importance of preventing drug addiction and other social evils in the Kashmir valley.
The major goal of the programme, according to the organisers, was to raise awareness within the parents, student population and encourage them to take the necessary actions to combat the drug problem.
Dr Kauser Bakshi, Dr Sadaf, Dr Sameena Kauser, Social activist Tawseef Ahmad War, Advocate Mir Imran, Social activist Sheikh Jamsheed and many other notable activists were present on the occasion.
