Srinagar: To commemorate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ a 108 feet high monumental National Flag was hoisted at Langate Park of famous Handwara Town called ‘The gateway to Bangus’.
The project is undertaken by civil administration. The 108 feet monumental National Flag will be one of the largest flag ever installed in the entire North Kashmir’s Kupwara region.
The presence of such a monumental National Flag will surely draw thousands of visitors and add beauty to the region and will instill a spirit of nationalism among the local populace.
Foundation stone of the project was laid on July 5 and the National flag was dedicated to the Nation on October 14.
DDC Kupwara, DC Kupwara/ ADC Handwara, SP Handwara, DSP /SHO Handwara, DDC Mawer, BDC Langate, MC Chairman Langate/Handwara, Tehsildar Handwara/Langate others were present on this occasion.
A huge gathering of local youth and students witnessed the memorable event with full of patriotic fervour.
Amidst the cheers of the local citizens of Langate, the high mast flag was proudly and ceremoniously dedicated to the nation, in a very dignified function organised by locals’ agencies.
