Mumbai: As tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, the Maharashtra government has ramped up its security apparatus to ensure preparedness across the state. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis confirmed that comprehensive security measures are in place, following a high-level review meeting held in Mumbai.

The administration has issued detailed instructions to district-level authorities to bolster vigilance and maintain readiness for any contingencies. Coordination between state police, the Indian Navy, and the Coast Guard has been intensified, with all agencies maintaining a heightened state of alert. Regular security drills and checks are being conducted to ensure that standard protocols under the wartime contingency plan, often referred to as the ‘war book’, are being strictly followed.

The state government has also begun mobilizing resources to reinforce security infrastructure in sensitive coastal and urban areas. Key locations, including ports and critical installations, are being monitored closely, while public advisories are being issued where necessary to ensure safety.

Fadnavis visited the pilgrimage town of Alandi on Saturday, where he interacted with the media and emphasized the state’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens. He reiterated that Maharashtra is fully equipped to respond to any emergency arising from the ongoing cross-border conflict.

Meanwhile, on the political front, Fadnavis declined to comment on speculations about a possible reconciliation between the rival factions of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He redirected questions on the matter to the party’s respective leaders, suggesting that internal affairs of the opposition are not of concern to the government at this critical juncture.
