Delhi Violence: I appeal to my sisters and brothers to maintain peace and brotherhood at all times, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took to his Twitter and applied to the people of Delhi to maintain peace, “Had an extensive review on the situation prevailing in various parts of Delhi. Police and other agencies are working on the ground to ensure peace and normalcy”, he wrote.

“Peace and harmony are central to our ethos. I appeal to my sisters and brothers of Delhi to maintain peace and brotherhood at all times. It is important that there is calm and normalcy is restored at the earliest,” he added.

Around twenty people have lost their lives in Delhi violence and many have been injured. Home Ministry has called for emergency meeting to review the law and order situation in the capital. The NSA has been given the responsibility to restore law and order in the city.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has blamed police for not taking appropriate action and mishandling the violence.
