Delhi Metro Blue Line Disruption: Cable Theft Sparks Commuter Woes

Commuters on Delhi Metro’s Blue Line faced significant delays on Thursday, December 5, due to a cable theft between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar stations. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) confirmed that services on the affected section would operate at restricted speeds, leading to longer travel times throughout the day.

The DMRC stated that the issue would only be resolved after operational hours at night, advising passengers to plan their journeys accordingly. While the slowdown is confined to the Moti Nagar-Kirti Nagar stretch, delays may ripple across the busy Blue Line, which connects Dwarka in the west to Noida and Vaishali in the east. This corridor is a vital lifeline for the city’s public transportation network, serving thousands of daily commuters.

This incident adds to a series of cable thefts affecting metro operations, with a similar case in August on the Red Line disrupting services between Jhilmil and Mansarovar Park stations.
