Cyber Police Handwara cracks down on Online scams, freezes and recovers ₹1,27000

Srinagar: The Cyber Cell of Handwara police has achieved significant success in its ongoing efforts to combat financial fraud, froze and recovered Rs ₹1,27000 in two separate online scam cases. In all ₹11000 have been recovered and ₹116000 has been frozen.

The Cyber Cell promptly analysed the complaints of online frauds. In both cases, the victims were lured by a web links, promising hefty returns. The scam involved convincing the victims to invest money with the promise of high returns. Initially, small tasks with quick returns were provided to bait the victims. Gradually, they were asked to invest larger amounts, which led to significant financial losses.

Handwara police has warned citizens to be vigilant against such scams. No legitimate investment schemes offer quick and substantial returns. The public is advised to avoid falling for such fraudulent schemes and to invest wisely.

The Handwara Police and its Cyber Cell reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the financial interests of the people and will continue to work proactively to prevent cybercrime.
