CPC Revising Regulations on Military-Political Work to Realize China Dream

CPC is set to promote the comprehensive implementation of political-military building strategy in the COVID-19 era to ensure effective fulfilment of military missions and tasks in the current turbulent geopolitical scenario. The party has decided to press all efforts in achieving the goal of building a strong military in this new era, in bids to comprehensively make the people’s military into a world-class military to realize the ‘China Dream’

New Delhi: In order to realize President Xi Jinping’s ‘China Dream’ and his vision to build a strong Chinese military to affirm Beijing’s position, the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday decided to revise its regulations on military-political work. The decision was taken at a meeting convened in the capital city by the CPC’s Central Committee Political Bureau to discuss and deliberate the current regulations overseeing the military-political tasking.

The decisions taken at the meeting, presided by President Xi, will hold major significance in strengthening the ‘Four Awareness’s’ (political awareness, awareness of the core, awareness of alignment, and awareness of the overall situation), empowering the ‘Four Self-Confidences’ (path, theory, system, and culture), as well as achieving ‘Two Safeguards’ (resolutely safeguard the core status of General Secretary Xi Jinping in the party Central Committee and in the entire party and resolutely safeguard the authority and centralized, unified leadership of the party Central Committee).

 According to analysts, the CPC’s decisions will also hold ramifications for implementing the Central Military Commission (CMC) chairman responsibility system, strengthening party leadership of military-political work, and promoting the comprehensive implementation of political-military building strategy in the region. The decisions at the meeting will also promote effective fulfilment of military missions, and tasks in the turbulent global political stage, achieving the party’s goal of building a strong military in the COVID-19 era and comprehensively making the people’s military into a world-class military.

The CPC leadership also focussed on amassing power and preparing for combat, while linking political work to all aspects of building combat strength and integrating it into the entire process of military combat preparation. They laid out plans to use rigid measures to promote the firm establishment of military-wide standards for combat strength as well.

Members highlighted that since the 18th Party Congress, the party Central Committee has placed great importance on developing democracy within the party and protecting party members’ rights. It has also emphasized respecting the principal position of party members and stimulating members’ enthusiasm for participating in internal party affairs. The members also called for close uniting of all party members around the Central Committee to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
