CP Radhakrishnan Elected as India’s Next Vice President, Defeats Opposition’s B Sudershan Reddy

New Delhi: In a decisive victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Chandrapuram Ponnusamy (CP) Radhakrishnan has been elected as the Vice President of India. The election was held on Tuesday, where Radhakrishnan secured 452 votes, defeating the joint Opposition’s candidate, former Supreme Court Judge B Sudershan Reddy, who managed 300 votes.

The polling began at 10 am and continued until 5 pm, witnessing active participation from MPs across parties. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was notably the first member to cast his vote, signaling the start of the crucial electoral process.
