The Congress party has strongly criticized the upcoming Ram Temple event in Ayodhya, denouncing it as a “purely political” affair. With the consecration ceremony scheduled for January 22, the Congress has opted not to participate, asserting that the BJP is exploiting the occasion for political gains ahead of the upcoming general elections.
In response to Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati’s decision to abstain from the grand ceremony, Congress leader Pawan Khera accused the BJP of overseeing the installation of Lord Ram’s idols without adhering to proper religious protocols.
Khera went on to assert that all four shankaracharyas have concurred that a consecration ceremony cannot be conducted in an incomplete temple.
Expressing the Congress’s stance, Pawan Khera declared that party leaders would visit the Ram Temple in Ayodhya at a later date. The shankaracharya, along with three other religious leaders, declined attendance, citing the ongoing construction of the temple.
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate announced that the party’s UP unit plans to visit the temple on January 15.
In response to the Congress’s decision to skip the Ayodhya event on January 22, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi criticized the move, characterizing it as a display of arrogance on the part of the Congress.
