Mumbai: Outrage has erupted across the nation over Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s alleged insult to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Congress party has demanded Shah’s apology and dismissal from the Cabinet. In response, the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee organized statewide ‘Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Sanman March’ to protest against the BJP.
In Latur, MLA Amit Deshmukh and MP Dr. Shivaji Kalge led a rally from Dr. Ambedkar Park to the District Collector’s office. In Nanded, protests were led by MP Ravindra Chavan and district president B.R. Kadam.
Chandrapur saw MP Pratibha Dhanorkar and former MLA Subhash Dhote lead demonstrations. In Amravati, district president Bablu Shekhawat, former mayor Vilas Ingole, and others led a large march.
In Akola, MLA Sajid Pathan led protests to the Collector’s office, joined by Congress leaders and office bearers. The Buldhana Congress Committee also staged protests, with senior leaders submitting a memorandum to the District Collector.
Protests were held in Palghar and are set to continue across the state. The next demonstration is scheduled for Jalna on Friday, according to district president Rajabhau Deshmukh and former MLA Kailas Gorantyal.
