New Delhi: Union Minister Bhupender Yadav launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing it of a long history of betrayal towards the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community. Addressing the issue of social justice, Yadav pointed out that the Congress had consistently failed to protect the interests of OBCs, both historically and in recent times.
“The OBC community has always been betrayed by the Congress. If the Congress had genuine intent, it would have formed a new commission after scrapping the Kaka Kalelkar Commission,” he said.
Yadav further alleged that instead of acting on the recommendations of the Kaka Kalelkar Commission, the Congress simply dismissed the report and continued to remain in power without addressing OBC concerns.
He went on to highlight how the Congress also tried to undermine the Mandal Commission, which was later upheld by the Supreme Court. “Later, when the Mandal Commission was constituted and the Supreme Court upheld its legality, the Congress worked to weaken the OBC Commission,” he added.
