Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday launched a scathing attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accusing him of indirectly enabling a “hidden underground army” that is allegedly targeting and intimidating SP leaders.

Speaking to reporters, Yadav warned that if any harm were to come to SP MP Ramji Lal Suman or any other party leader, the responsibility would lie solely with the Chief Minister. Drawing a sharp historical parallel, Yadav likened the alleged activities of the group to those of Nazi-era enforcers.

“…If an incident happens with Ramji Lal Suman (SP MP) or any SP leader, CM himself would be responsible for it. Because CM himself has given his blessings to that organisation, all the people that you can see there… we should not speak of caste but we can see a caste connection here… CM himself is encouraging all of this. There used to be troopers during Hitler’s era. Similarly, they have prepared a hidden underground army which is insulting people from time to time…,” said the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.

Yadav’s remarks come amid rising political tensions in the state, where recent incidents involving members of the Samajwadi Party have raised questions about law and order and the alleged misuse of state machinery.

The SP president also criticized the apparent caste undertones in the recent events, saying, “we should not speak of caste but we can see a caste connection here,” hinting at a pattern of discrimination and targeting based on identity.
