Mumbai: Maharashtra cabinet minister and senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar were seen using foul language against a Rana couple who wanted to recite Hanuman Chalisa at Uddhav Thackeray’s permanent residence in Bandra called ‘Matoshree’ In a video which has gone viral on social media in which Minister Wadettiwar was using foul language against MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Chitra Wagh has condemned the language used by the minister against the Rana couple. In her tweet, she says “We also oppose the stand of going at anyone’s house and protest. But how can the government slap a sedition charge just for reciting Hanuman Chalisa? We also strongly condemn the language used by Minister. Such minister should be beaten by ladies then only his mind will get stabled”.
Rana couple who all the way came to Mumbai from their home town Amravati with intention of reciting Hanuman Chalisa at CM’s residence in Bandra. Shiv Sena party workers protested against the couple outside their Khar residence and didn’t allow them to step outside their house.
On Saturday evening Police in heavy security took them to Khar police station where an offence was registered against them and later they were arrested under Indian Penal Code section 153(a), other acts of the Bombay Police Act. Later 124(a) which is concerned with sedition was added to the FIR.
