Thane: As the Coronavirus cases in Mira Bhayander are increasing by every passing day, the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has started a ‘chase the virus campaign’ in the city. The MBMC will form 417 teams, each team will have two members and will visit each and every household in the twin city and conduct health checkups.
As per the reports, the team will check every person and if anyone found any kind of symptoms like fever, cough or cold they will be treated. This campaign will run for five days.
Speaking with the reporters MBMC Commissioner Dr Vijay Rathod said, “We have started the chase the virus campaign in the Mira Bhayander from today for five days. Every team will have pulse oximeter and thermal screening which will help them to detect those people who have symptoms and then they will be treated by MBMC. I request all the residents to please cooperate in this campaign so we can curb coronavirus from our city.”

Apart from this, MBMC is facing flak for extending lockdown in Mira Bhayander till July 18. Lockdown which was supposed to end on July 10 was extended for eight more days. MLA Pratap Sarnaik and MLA Geeta Jain slammed MBMC for their decision. Geeta Jain said if the lockdown did not end on July 18 she will do ‘Jail bharo andolan’.
