Mumbai: A case has been registered against NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Jitendra Awhad at the Marine Drive Police Station following a high-voltage clash between BJP and NCP (SP) workers near the Vidhan Bhavan on Thursday. According to Mumbai Police, the incident took place in the evening when Awhad and his supporters sat in front of a police vehicle, allegedly obstructing law enforcement operations.
The political scuffle had escalated quickly after tensions flared between party workers of the BJP and NCP during the Assembly session proceedings. “Considering the seriousness of the matter, a case has been registered against Jitendra Awhad,” said Mumbai Police in an official statement.
