Naraingarh: A Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader, Harbilas Singh Rajjumajra, was shot dead by armed assailants in Naraingarh, Haryana, on Friday evening. Rajjumajra, a BSP leader from Ambala, was accompanied by two friends, Puneet and Gugal, when the attack occurred while they were inside their car.
Puneet sustained bullet injuries in the attack and was rushed to PGIMER, Chandigarh, along with Rajjumajra. Despite efforts to save him, Harbilas succumbed to his injuries later that night, while Puneet’s condition was reported to be stable and he was said to be out of danger.
The police have launched an investigation but have yet to identify the attackers. Naraingarh Station House Officer (SHO) Lalit Kumar arrived at the crime scene to initiate the probe. Superintendent of Police (SP), Ambala, S.S. Bhoria, confirmed that a special police team has been formed to track down the assailants and bring them to justice.
Authorities have not ruled out political motives behind the attack, but further details will emerge as the investigation progresses. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and sparked concerns over political violence in the region.
