Mumbai: The Shiv Sena ruled Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has once said that its quarantine rules will be same be it any agencies coming to Mumbai. The terse comment comes at a time when the members of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are arriving in Mumbai on Thursday, August 20 to take over the probe from the Mumbai police.
However, after the Supreme Court gave its verdict handing over the mysterious death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR) case to the CBI, there is a stony silence from the BMC and Mayor Kishori Pednekar who are not even ready to comment on the issue.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ordered that CBI will take over the investigation into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. SC also had asked the Mumbai police to hand over all evidence it has collected to CBI. This was the first step towards Bihar’s win  in its tussle with Maharashtra, the Supreme Court also said the FIR registered in Patna based on a complaint filed by Sushant Singh’s father was correct and Bihar was competent to ask the CBI to investigate the case.

A “fair, competent and impartial probe” is the need of the hour to stop speculation, said the top court
Recently mayor, when Bihar SP Vinay Tiwari arrived at Mumbai Airport he was forcibly put to 14 days quarantine by the BMC.
Later to this, mayor of Mumbai,  Kishori Pednekar made it clear about the firm decision of BMC on abiding the rules and regulations in the time of pandemic.
Earlier BMC had issued an order which said that it would quarantine all passengers coming to Mumbai from other states without exception.
After the order of the Supreme court of handing over the case to CBI, BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has said to ANI news “If CBI team comes for 7 days they’ll be automatically exempted from quarantine if carrying confirmed return ticket, as per MCGM’s existing quarantine guidelines. If they come for more than 7 days they’ve to apply for exemption via our email id, we’ll exempt them.
Recently, senior IPS officer from Bihar, Vinay Tiwari who landed at Mumbai airport on August 2 to lead the Special Investigation Team (SIT) sent by Bihar police to investigate the alleged suicide case of Sushant Singh.
Commenting on him being put under quarantine since the night of August 2 till August 7, Tiwari said it was not me who was quarantined but the investigation was quarantined and as soon as the case was transferred to CBI, I received a message that I am free to go Bihar.Â
The Tussle between the Bihar Police and Maharashtra police was clearly seen, when a senior IPS officer of Bihar cadre was forcibly quarantined.
The Bihar government wanted to investigate the case on its own alleging that the Mumbai Police was not doing a thorough job. However, the death occurred in Mumbai and the Bihar Police had no jurisdiction. Hence BMC also intervened and made Tiwari to be quarantined.-By Vikas Nag
