In a quarantine center a patient’s family and friends are not allowed and in such situations, many times the patients fall prey to depression. Some patients talk to their family and friends through phone, but many do not even have that facility.

In such a situation, BMC is offering one to two tabs to 5 Jumbo Covid Care Centers and other CCC centers to protect the patients from depression and overcome their loneliness.

“Many times patients express their desire to talk to their loved ones on video call. Staff at the centers sometimes also gives the patients their phones to talk after which boredom and loneliness of patient’s are reduced to some extent by talking to their loved ones. So we have started giving tabs with the internet so that the patients can be in touch with their family and friends in centers”, said Additional Municipal Commissioner, Suresh Kakani.

Psychiatrist Dr. Harish Shetty said “This initiative of BMC is commendable. Along with medication patients need support of their family and friends this will give them a lot of motivation”.
