“BJP Will Be Part of Govt, Alliance with AIADMK Should Continue to Defeat DMK”: Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Annamalai Echoes Amit Shah’s Stand

Chennai: In a significant political statement ahead of the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu, BJP state president K. Annamalai reinforced the central leadership’s commitment to the AIADMK-BJP alliance. He said that the party’s objective remains clear — to dislodge the ruling DMK from power and form a strong government in the state.

“Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said several times that the BJP will be part of the government,” Annamalai said while speaking to reporters. Reiterating the BJP’s position, he added, “The alliance (with the AIADMK) should continue and we want to defeat the DMK.”

Annamalai also revealed that discussions at the central level have focused on creating a collaborative roadmap between the two major parties. “The Union Home Minister has also said that we will have a common minimum programme which will be acceptable to both the parties,” he emphasized.

These remarks come at a time when speculation about rifts within the alliance had started gaining traction. However, Annamalai’s assertion makes it clear that the BJP is eyeing a stronger footing in Tamil Nadu politics through continued partnership with the AIADMK.
