BJP Minister Meghna Bordikar Sparks Controversy After Threatening Gram Sevak in Viral Video; Rohit Pawar Hits Back

Parbhani: A video of BJP Minister of State for Public Health Meghna Bordikar threatening a gram sevak during a public event in Bori village, Jintur taluka of Parbhani district, has stirred political controversy in Maharashtra. The clip, now widely circulated on social media, shows Bordikar scolding the official and threatening to “slap” him over alleged irregularities in the PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) beneficiary list.

In the video, Bordikar can be heard saying:“If you operate in this way, keep in mind these are the words of Meghna Bordikar… I’ll hit you. Who covers your salary? You will be sent away right away. Avoid attempting to be a sycophant for anyone. Do you believe I’m unaware of how you operate? If you wish to operate this way, resign from this position.”

The video was shared by NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, who took a swipe at Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, questioning the BJP’s choice of ministers.

“Your cabinet’s reputation is not just at risk, but beyond that, it’s Maharashtra’s dignity that is being tarnished, which is the greater issue,” Pawar stated.

Pawar accused Bordikar of arrogance and misuse of power, alleging that she intimidated the gram sevak simply for failing to present a “sufficient number” of PMAY beneficiaries at the event.

However, Bordikar defended her remarks, stating the official in question was demanding bribes from widows and laborers eligible under PMAY.

“What I mentioned before and after the event has not been made public,” Bordikar told reporters.

“The gram sevak was taking money from poor beneficiaries. I spoke firmly in public because I stand with the people, not with corrupt practices.”
