In a startling revelation, Chandrakant Patil, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Higher and Technical Education Minister, has shed light on the tumultuous political landscape of Maharashtra, hinting at the potential arrest of former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Patil made these remarks during a meeting of office bearers in Mangalvedha, Solapur Lok Sabha constituency, where he reflected on the challenges faced during his tenure as the state president. He candidly disclosed, “Devendra Fadnavis could have been arrested at any moment.”

Recalling the turbulent 33 months he spent as the state president, Patil emphasized the resilience of the BJP leadership amidst political upheavals. “We know what we have endured,” he remarked, alluding to the uncertain times when Fadnavis’ arrest loomed ominously. However, he expressed confidence that those challenging days eventually passed, albeit without garnering widespread attention, ultimately leading to Eknath Shinde’s ascension as Chief Minister.

Patil’s remarks underscore the intricate power dynamics within Maharashtra’s political landscape, hinting at behind-the-scenes developments during the transition of power from the BJP-led government to the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition.

Furthermore, Patil addressed the electoral landscape, acknowledging the perceived difficulties in the Madha constituency while maintaining confidence in the BJP’s prospects in Solapur. He acknowledged the challenges posed in Madha but highlighted the party’s resolve to navigate through them.

Interestingly, Patil referenced a survey conducted by ABP Mazha, which indicates BJP’s Ram Satpute leading in Solapur while Mohite Patil of the Nationalist Sharad Pawar group is ahead in Madha Lok Sabha. Despite initially critiquing the survey, Patil ultimately accepted its findings, signaling a pragmatic approach to electoral realities.

The revelation of Fadnavis’ potential arrest adds a dramatic twist to Maharashtra’s political narrative, offering insights into the uncertainties and power struggles that have characterized its recent history. As Maharashtra prepares for upcoming elections, Patil’s remarks serve as a reminder of the intricate web of politics and power dynamics that continue to shape the state’s destiny.
