As vote counting for Assembly elections began on Monday morning across multiple states, activity picked up not only at counting centres but also at the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party in New Delhi, where elaborate arrangements were made for party workers and supporters.
From the early hours of the day, a dedicated kitchen team was at work preparing a large spread of traditional breakfast items. According to the chef overseeing the arrangements, preparations started around 4 AM to cater to nearly 400–500 people expected at the venue. The menu included a mix of popular dishes such as sandwiches, poha, aloo poori, and jalebi, along with beverages and desserts like lassi, rabri, fresh fruits, and mishti doi. A team of over 20 members managed the cooking and logistics.
Meanwhile, the counting process is in full swing across 823 constituencies spanning Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry. Alongside the Assembly polls, counting for by-elections in seven constituencies across five states is also underway.
Officials confirmed that the counting process began with postal ballots, followed by Electronic Voting Machines from 8:30 AM onward. Results are being updated round by round through official Election Commission platforms, allowing real-time tracking of trends.
Security has been significantly reinforced at counting centres to ensure smooth conduct, with authorities closely monitoring the situation as results continue to unfold throughout the day.
