Incidentally, it has been a year has passed since the flag of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was withdrawn after the abrogation of Article 370 and formation of the new Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir had its own state flag since June 7, 1952. The BJP had been opposed to the concept of two separate flags, one for Jammu and Kashmir and the other the national tricolor.
