The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, accusing him of stripping a government bungalow of its furnishings and fixtures before vacating the premises. The allegations surfaced on Monday, with Bihar BJP’s media in-charge, Danish Iqbal, detailing the purported removal of various items, including furniture, air conditioning units, light fixtures, and even a badminton court mat.

According to Danish Iqbal, “The base of the bed is missing, the AC and lights have been removed, and the water outlets in the washroom have been taken out. Even the badminton court mat has been taken, and the fountain lights and sofas have been taken. It’s clear that when Tejashwi Yadav vacated the house, he took everything with him. This speaks volumes about his mentality,” as reported by news agency.

Iqbal further stated, “I’m not just accusing him, but it is completely proven. The way Tejashwi Yadav vacated his official residence shows his upbringing. The way he vacated the house, he has displayed how to loot government property.”

Adding to the controversy, Iqbal noted that the hard drive from CCTV cameras installed at the residence was also missing. This claim has raised further questions about the conduct of Yadav during his tenure.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh weighed in on the issue, stating, “A person in a public position should not do such derogatory activities. An inquiry committee should be formed to investigate how much money was spent on Tejashwi Yadav’s bungalow, and a case should also be registered.”

Meanwhile, in a separate development, a Delhi court granted bail to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his sons, Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav, in the land-for-jobs money laundering case. Special Judge Vishal Gogne granted bail on a personal bond of ₹1 lakh each, noting that they had not been arrested during the investigation. This ruling came after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a supplementary charge sheet against them on August 6, based on an FIR lodged by the CBI.

The political landscape in Bihar continues to heat up, with the BJP leveraging these accusations against Yadav as Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary prepares to move into the vacated bungalow during the upcoming Navratri festival.
