Patna: A fresh political war of words erupted in Bihar after Minister Mangal Pandey took a sharp dig at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family, branding them as the “most non-serious politicians” in the state. His statement came as a direct response to RJD’s criticism of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the recent national anthem controversy.

The controversy began when RJD leaders accused Nitish Kumar of disrespecting the national anthem at a public event. Sharing a video of the incident on social media, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav claimed that Kumar was engaged in conversation and distracted while the anthem played. The opposition demanded that the Chief Minister issue an apology in both houses of the state assembly.

Reacting strongly to the allegations, Mangal Pandey dismissed the criticism, defending Nitish Kumar’s integrity. “Nitish Kumar has always upheld the dignity of the country and its traditions. Those who have a history of disrespecting national values are now pointing fingers at him. This is nothing but hypocrisy,” Pandey said.

He further attacked Lalu Yadav’s family, stating that their political track record speaks for itself. “There have never been politicians as non-serious as Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family. Their politics is centered around creating unnecessary controversies rather than contributing to governance,” he added.
