In Bihar, the political landscape is currently ablaze with speculation and uncertainty as several MLAs from both sides of the political spectrum have either gone missing or skipped crucial meetings, sparking rumors of ‘Khela’ (the game) in the state’s political arena.

Reports indicate that around a dozen Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLAs, including prominent figures like Sheohar MLA Chetan Anand and Mokama MLA Nilam Devi, have become unreachable. Chetan Anand, the son of Anand Mohan, and Nilam Devi, the wife of former MLA Ananat Singh, are among those reportedly unaccounted for.

Meanwhile, on the Janata Dal United (JDU) front, several leaders failed to attend a lunch hosted by Nitish Kumar’s key aide, Shravan Kumar. Although CM Nitish Kumar was present, notable absentees included Sanjeev Kumar, Sudarshan Kumar, Gopal Mandal, Bima Bharti, and Gunjeshwar Shah.

Adding to the intrigue, reports suggest that some Left MLAs have met with Hindustani Awam Morcha chief and former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi, offering him the CM seat. With HAM possessing four MLAs in the Bihar Assembly, this development has intensified speculation about potential realignments in the political landscape.

While there are indications of RJD’s interest in bringing Manjhi into their fold, the HAM leader has reiterated his commitment to the NDA and expressed loyalty to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

With the majority mark in the Bihar assembly set at 122, the NDA appears to hold an edge with 127 seats (JDU – 43, BJP – 74, HAM – 4) compared to the Mahagathbandhan’s 114 seats (RJD – 79, Congress – 19, Left – 16).

The stage is now set for a crucial floor test scheduled for Monday, where CM Nitish Kumar will be required to prove his majority in the house. Both the NDA and Mahagathbandhan are reportedly scrambling to secure the loyalty of their respective MLAs ahead of this decisive showdown.

Former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has already sounded the battle cry, declaring that ‘Khela Abhi Baaki Hai’ – the game is not over yet. As the political drama unfolds, all eyes are on Bihar to see which side emerges victorious in this high-stakes game of political maneuvering and brinkmanship.
