New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate from Kalkaji, Atishi, has written a letter to the election officer accusing Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephew and BJP workers of threatening and intimidating AAP supporters in the Kalkaji constituency. The letter, sent on Tuesday, highlights an incident of alleged hooliganism and misconduct by BJP members, which reportedly occurred the previous evening.

Atishi, in her letter, described how BJP workers resorted to violence and threats against AAP volunteers, including incidents where several women workers were allegedly misbehaved with. She accused Ramesh Bidhuri’s relatives of leading this aggressive campaign, aimed at scaring AAP members ahead of the election. Atishi also demanded action from the election authorities, urging for paramilitary forces to be deployed in the Kalkaji constituency for ensuring free and fair elections.

Taking to X, Atishi stated, “Fearing defeat in Kalkaji, Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephew and relatives resorted to hooliganism. Yesterday evening, BJP members intimidated, threatened and used force on Aam Aadmi Party workers. Many women workers were also misbehaved with. A letter demanding action against these goons has been sent to the election officials.”

In response, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal voiced his concerns, condemning the alleged actions as an attempt to disrupt the electoral process. He stated, “With the protection and support of the police, BJP people are openly committing hooliganism and threatening the people of Delhi. All this is happening on the orders of Amit Shah ji. BJP lost badly in 2015 and 2020. This time too BJP is losing badly. So now Amit Shah ji is getting hooliganism done against the people of Delhi.”

Kejriwal expressed dismay at the BJP’s tactics, saying, “Delhi is a city of civilized and decent people. Delhiites do not like such hooliganism. Using the police to threaten people and to commit hooliganism against them is very wrong.”

The controversy comes after BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri targeted Atishi during the election campaign, calling her actions in Kalkaji a mere display, accusing her of neglecting her constituency. Atishi and the AAP sharply condemned Bidhuri’s remarks, accusing the BJP of anti-women behavior and disrespectful comments. Bidhuri, who has been known for controversial remarks, also came under fire recently for making unsavory comments about Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, for which he later expressed regret.
