New Delhi: Delhi Leader of Opposition (LoP) Atishi has written to President Draupadi Murmu, seeking an urgent meeting with her along with AAP MLAs over the suspension of 21 legislators from the Delhi Assembly.

In her letter, Atishi termed the suspension a “direct attack on Indian democracy” and accused the BJP-led Delhi government of “dictatorial actions.” She alleged that the government had removed portraits of Babasaheb Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh from various Delhi government offices, calling it an “insult to the brave sons of the country” and an affront to the Dalit, backward, and deprived communities.

“The Aam Aadmi Party’s legislative party wants to meet you regarding this matter so that appropriate steps can be taken against this dictatorship. This is not just a matter of self-determination, but a sign of crisis on the democracy of the entire country,” Atishi stated in her letter.
