Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk was reportedly caught up in a shooting incident in Canada after his concert in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on September 5.
According to reports, a vehicle travelling as part of the singer’s convoy came under gunfire shortly after the event. Initial information cited by Voice Online suggested that people travelling in a dark-coloured SUV fired several rounds at the car.
Abbotsford Police confirmed that officers responded to a shooting in the area. However, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
Reports further claimed that the vehicle targeted by the attackers was bulletproof. During the subsequent investigation, sources reportedly told the portal that Ammy Virk and the concert promoter were inside the vehicle when the shooting occurred.
The motive behind the reported attack has not yet been established. There has also been no official indication of whether the incident was specifically aimed at the singer or connected to any dispute involving him.
Ammy Virk Yet to Comment on Shooting Report
Ammy Virk has not publicly addressed the reported shooting so far. Instead, his recent social media activity has focused on his Canada tour and the completion of his performances.
Following his Vancouver concert, the singer shared photographs from the event and thanked his fans for their support. He wrote, “Thank you so much Vancouver ❤️(BC) Hope you guyz liked that show.. that was our last show of unity tour… (sic)”
In another message, Virk reflected on the tour and thanked everyone involved in organising his shows. He spoke about the lessons he had taken from the journey, mistakes made and corrected, and the support received from his musicians, production crew, management and promoter.
He also expressed his intention to return with greater preparation and continue entertaining audiences.
Ammy Virk’s Canada Tour Comes to an End
The reported shooting came as Virk was wrapping up his Unity Tour in Canada. His Vancouver performance was described by the singer as the final show of the tour.
The incident has nevertheless raised concerns among fans, particularly because reports suggest that the singer and promoter were travelling in the vehicle that was allegedly targeted.
Police have not publicly established a motive for the shooting, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are understood to be continuing.
