New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday directed the Delhi Police to take a ruthless approach in eliminating interstate gangs operating in the national capital. The directive was issued during a high-level security review meeting attended by newly-elected Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi Commissioner of Police Ashish Sood, and senior law enforcement officials.
Shah emphasized the need for a no-nonsense approach to dismantle organized crime syndicates, drug networks, and illegal immigration rackets. He instructed the police to take strict action against narcotics cases using a top-to-bottom strategy to dismantle drug cartels. He also stressed the importance of targeting networks that facilitate the illegal entry and settlement of Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants in India.
The home minister made it clear that those aiding illegal infiltration by providing forged documents and shelter must face legal consequences. He reiterated that illegal immigration is a matter of national security and must be dealt with strictly. Authorities have been directed to identify and deport illegal immigrants while ensuring that those involved in document forgery are brought to justice.
