New Delhi: In a hard-hitting address to the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday held Congress squarely responsible for the rise of Pakistan and accused the party of compromising India’s fight against terrorism for vote bank politics. The Home Minister further accused the UPA government of reversing the nation’s counter-terror progress. “In 2004, when the Manmohan Singh-Sonia Gandhi government came to power, the very first thing they did was scrap POTA. For whose benefit was this done?” he said.
Shah directly challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to clarify his party’s stand on terrorism. “Rahul Gandhi should rise in this House and tell the nation: What has Congress done to fight terrorism? When will they stop shielding those who attack India?” he asked.
