Mumbai: Although the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has insisted that it had no role in triggering unrest within the ruling Shiv Sena, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Raosaheb Danve on Sunday in a terse remark arguing that the days of the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition of the Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress were numbered.

Speaking at the inaugural function of a new agriculture department building in Jalna district in the presence of State Health Minister and NCP leader Rajesh Tope, the former state BJP president quipped that the MVA ought to complete its pending development works at the earliest as the BJP would be in Opposition benches only for the next “two to three days”.

The Union Minister of State for Railway, Coal and Mines remarked, “Time is running out. This (MVA) government will last for two to three days. Shiv Sena MLAs are resentful towards Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray (for being in the MVA) as development funds were diverted by the NCP and Congress.”

He further reiterated that the BJP had nothing to do with the revolt led by Sena Minister Eknath Shinde.

When asked whether the rebel Sena faction of Eknath Shinde would merge with the BJP, Raosaheb Danve, said there was no such proposal yet and added that if there was one given to the BJP, then the party’s senior leadership would take a call on it.
