Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has assured that the state government has no plans to discontinue the Shiv Bhojan Thali and Anandacha Shidha schemes. In a written response to the Maharashtra Assembly on Monday, Pawar clarified that despite pending payments to some vendors, the government is actively working to resolve the issue and ensure the smooth continuation of these welfare programs.

Launched to support the state’s underprivileged, the Shiv Bhojan Thali scheme provides nutritious meals at a subsidized rate of ₹10, while the Anandacha Shidha initiative ensures beneficiaries receive essential food grains at lower prices. These programs have been a crucial support system for thousands of people in Maharashtra.

Recent disruptions due to delayed vendor payments had raised concerns over the future of these schemes. Addressing these apprehensions, Pawar reaffirmed that the government remains committed to these initiatives and is taking necessary steps to disburse outstanding payments at the earliest.
