New Delhi: The All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) has strongly condemned what it described as “unprovoked and brazen military aggression” by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28, 2026. In a press statement issued from New Delhi, the farmers’ organization alleged that targeted airstrikes on leadership compounds in Tehran reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling the action a “grave violation of the United Nations Charter and international law”
The AIKS characterised the strikes as an act of war and accused the US administration of pursuing what it termed an “imperialist agenda.” The statement further claimed that the attack reflects a broader pattern of US military interventions globally.
The farmers’ body also criticised the Government of India, alleging that New Delhi’s growing strategic and defense ties with the United States and Israel amount to diplomatic alignment. It referred to recent defense logistics agreements and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic engagements as indicators of this shift.
AIKS linked the geopolitical developments with the recently signed Indo–US trade agreement, which it described as detrimental to Indian farmers. The organisation reiterated its earlier opposition to the trade deal, arguing that it exposes Indian agriculture to subsidised American imports.
Key Demands Raised by AIKS
The All India Kisan Sabha placed the following demands before the Government of India.
- India should issue a clear and public condemnation of the US–Israeli military action.
- The government should reconsider its participation in strategic alliances such as I2U2 and the QUAD.
- The Indo–US trade agreement should be scrapped, and agriculture should be kept out of future trade negotiations.
- India should take a leading role in defending the UN Charter and principles of international law.
In its concluding remarks, AIKS appealed to workers, students, farmers, and youth to oppose what it termed “imperialist acts” and warned of nationwide mobilisation if the government continues on its present course. The statement was signed by Rajan Kshirsagar, President, and Ravula Venkaiah, General Secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha.
