After the book, controversial video on twitter handle comes handy for Sena to hit back at BJP

Mumbai: After taking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to task over the controversial book by its Delhi unit leader Jai Bhagwan Goel that sought to equate Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday once again accused the BJP of superimposing photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and using it for election campaigning.

Just like in the case of the controversial book in which the BJP had to tender an apology and withdraw the book, state BJP president Chandrakant Patil clarified that the BJP has nothing to do with the controversial video and hence it was wrong to hold the BJP accountable for it.

Taking a swipe at BJP leader Udayanraje Bhosale, he said that he has sent the video clip to those who were making too much noise of late. Taking further sarcastic dig at Sambhaji Bhide @ Bhide Guruji, Raut remarked “some had shutdown Satara, some had shutdown Sangli, some had made big statements, those people should speak up now”

He went on to argue that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was global icon and a deity for the likes of him. Raut went on to add that people like him would rather die but never cause any insult to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He further questioned as to why those who were questioning him the other day are now keeping mum. Taking a further dig at Udayanraje Bhosale he further remarked that only few prominent people have the right to speak about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, they need to be asked questions.

Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje, BJP Rajya Sabha MP took to twitter demanding the Center order a probe into the video tweet and take action. Slamming the video, he demanded that the concerned party (BJP) should clarify. He called upon the government to respect the feelings of those like him who revere Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as their deity and ensure that such things do not happen again.

Meanwhile, state BJP president Chandrakant Patil brushed off the controversy arguing that the BJP has had no connection with the video posted on the “political kida” twitter handle that used footage of Bollywood flick “Tanhaji”. Arguing that the BJP is not using the said controversial video in the on-going Delhi assembly elections, he added that the BJP too unequivocally condemns it.

Patil added that it is totally wrong and mischievous to hold the BJP accountable and ask questions of it on the basis of the video. He further asserted that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was incomparable.

Patil stated that there can be no control on who will make any video and make it viral on the social media. He further argued that someone has made this controversial video viral on the social media. Patil further contended that there appears to be a sinister plan of creating doubts about the BJP and manufacture criticism.

Taking on Sanjay Raut, he remarked that those who ask proofs of being heirs of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj have no moral right to speak on the subject. Patil stated that the BJPs stand on the issue is very clear, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was an incomparable, legendary king and such great kings are never reborn. It was because of his efforts “Hindavi Swaraj” was set up and hence no one can be compared with him, he added.
