New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Wednesday morning, marking the second such strategic huddle in just a week following the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead, including a Nepali tourist, in Jammu & Kashmir’s Baisaran Valley.

The CCS meeting is expected to convene around 11 a.m., bringing together top ministers including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, among others.

According to reports, the security-focused deliberations may be followed by a Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) meeting, as the Centre weighs both strategic and economic responses to the April 22 attack, which has drawn nationwide outrage.

The latest CCS gathering follows a closed-door meeting between Defence Minister Singh and PM Modi at the Prime Minister’s Lok Kalyan Marg residence on Tuesday.
