Srinagar: As part of the Government’s ambitious Jan Abhiyan programme, the Block Diwas or Youm-e-Block was observed on Wednesday at block M of district Kupwara. On the occasion, officers and officials from line departments listened to the issues, grievances and demands of the general public at all the three venues for their timely redressal.
In order to get the first-hand appraisal of public grievances and demands, the DDC Magam Adv Zahoor, Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara Nazir Ahmad Tehsildar Handwara along BDO Magam remained available at Magam Handwara where he listened to grievances and issues for redressal.
People from Magam, Shogpora, Tumpora, Neelipora, Geeripora and other areas apprised the Additional Deputy Commissioner about various issues and put forth their demand for redressal.
During the proceedings, a large number of deputations, individuals from different areas flagged off their issues, grievances and demands to the ADC.
People also highlighted various issues and put forth various demands pertaining to PDD, Jal Shakti, RDD, PMGSY, R&B and other departments.
The ADC after giving patient hearing to the public addressed some of the grievances on spot and in the context of other demands and issues required to be redressed at higher level; he assured that the same will be forwarded to concerned authorities at an earliest for immediate considerations.
