Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ajaz Khan is in fresh legal trouble after a woman accused him of raping her under the pretext of helping her enter the film industry. The case was registered against Khan on Sunday at the Charkop Police Station in Mumbai after a female actor filed a complaint against him. This incident comes at a time when Khan is already embroiled in a separate controversy concerning his web show, House Arrest.

Rape Allegation: A Promise of Marriage and Betrayal

According to the complaint, the victim, an actress, alleged that Khan approached her to host his controversial web series House Arrest. During the shoot, Khan reportedly proposed to her, promising to marry her after converting his religion. However, despite her refusal, the actress claims that Khan sexually assaulted her. The FIR has been registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including sections related to rape, such as 64, 64(2M), 69, and 74. The police have confirmed that a full investigation is underway.

‘House Arrest’ Show and Previous Controversies

This new accusation is only adding to the controversies surrounding Ajaz Khan. The actor is already in the midst of backlash over his involvement in the web show House Arrest, aired on the Ullu app. The show has faced widespread criticism for allegedly promoting obscenity, with political and social groups calling for government intervention. As a result, an FIR was filed against Khan and Ullu app CEO Vibhu Agrawal for promoting vulgar content. The controversy intensified when video clips from the show went viral, showing Khan allegedly encouraging female contestants to undress and pose intimately with male participants on camera.

National Commission for Women Takes Action

The virality of these clips triggered outrage on social media, leading to intervention from the National Commission for Women (NCW). On the back of public outrage, the NCW issued summons to both Ajaz Khan and Vibhu Agrawal, demanding their presence before the commission on May 9 to answer to allegations of obscenity and exploitation.
