Ludhiana: The tragic death of Gurpreet Gogi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Ludhiana West, has left many questions unanswered. Gogi, who was declared dead late on Friday night, reportedly sustained fatal head injuries after accidentally shooting himself. According to a senior Punjab Police officer, the incident occurred around midnight, and Gogi was rushed to Dayanand Medical College (DMC) Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja confirmed the details, stating, “As per the family members, Gurpreet Gogi shot himself accidentally, sustaining bullet injuries to his head. His body has been kept at the mortuary in DMC Hospital.”
However, the police are withholding a definitive cause of death until the post-mortem report is available. “The cause of death will be clear once the post-mortem reports come,” DCP Teja added.
